This particular Thermometer has a 2" dial face with a 2 1/2" stem. It is very easy to install, as you just insert the stem through A 3/8 hole on your Grill/ Smoker/pit and attach the Installation Kit is included, which is A Nut And Washer.

If your pit does not have a hole, you can just simply drill a 3/8 hole and attach the thermometer as previously described.

I reckamend at lest one that goes to 550 degrees for a Gas Wood Charcoal or
I reckamend at lest one that goes to 750 for Pellet Grills that you can GRLL on

I put my Steak Hamburger Hot Dog on at 500 degrees to get nice Grill Marks
